Over time, the system fills up with more and more records. To find them quickly, JAMES offers a search function. The search function is a so-called full text search and currently searches the following fields:
- Appointment: The occasion or appointment description
- Visitor: the name or first name of a visitor
- Company: The company name
- Licence plate number: If stored in the contact, the licence plate number of a vehicle.
The search does not require the full search term. For example, for "metaSEC" as a company name it is also sufficient to use "meta" is also sufficient. The search does not distinguish between upper and lower case. The search can be limited to events of the current day with the item >>today only<<.

Another option is to search via the document scanner. If this is connected to the system the search is carried out via the personal data recorded in the document (surname, first name).
